Oggi voglio inaugurare una nuova rubrica… (se così vogliamo chiamarla) …che ho pensato di chiamare “Consigli per gli acquisti” (ci manca solo in jingle 😉 ) …ovvero delle pagine dove vorrei  condividere un po’ delle idee per gadget o ingredienti di cucina e magari non solo quelli, che vedo in giro per il web, che mi piacciono e che credo sia bello condividere con voi!

Penso che sia cosa comune per molti foodblogger quella micidiale mania-compulsiva che ci spinge a cercare un determinato ingrediente o gadget di cucina di cui abbiamo letto su libri, riviste o siti web… oggetti che fino a 5 minuti prima erano inesistenti ed all’improvviso ci sembrano indispensabili… “come potrò mai viver senza quello stampo?!?!” … e così ci imbarchiamo in ricerche affannose, a volte pure dispendiose pur di avere il tanto agognato “oggetto del desiderio” !

…e se poi siete come me… assurde e folli… una volta portato a casa il bottino ed averlo rimirato e studiato… lo dimenticherete in credenza per mesi prima di usarlo! …giusto perché non potevamo vivere senza! 😉

Insomma… ho pensato di condividere idee per nuovi oggetti del desiderio :)… ed ove possibile, i modi per poterli avere… ma anche idee carine che posso scovare in giro… oggetti che magari già ho… o che vorrei avere… o che semplicemente  mi piacciono e mi hanno ispirato! …spero la cosa possa essere gradita… credo che nuovi spunti facciano sempre piacere!

Non voglio dare una scadenza settimanale o altro… ci sono così tante regole e scadenze nella vita quotidiana da rispettare che almeno qui sul blog voglio prendermela comoda e non essere così fessa da mettermi pressioni da sola! 😉 …quindi oggi si comincia… e poi …vedremo dai! 😉

Ed oggi comincio con un oggetto che già ho… che ho cercato per un bel po’ e che alla fine scovai su Ebay!

Parlo dello stampo in ceramica da forno per Shortbread! …gli shortbread sono i famosi biscotti scozzesi burrosissimi e buonissimi! …hanno diverse forme classiche… dai bastoncini con i buchetti in superficie a quelli triangolari che vengono chiamati Petticoat Tails! …e questo stampo serve appunto a preparare questo tipo di shortbread! …hanno raffigurato su ogni spicchio il fiore del cardo, simbolo della Scozia …giusto per avere dei biscotti belli oltre che buonissimi!

Ho sempre amato molto gli shortbread …inoltre, se possibile, mi piace cercare di riprodurre le ricette in maniera più originale possibile, magari usando anche gli attrezzi più classici per prepararli, e quindi questo stampo “doveva essere mio” 😉

Se vi interessa credo che l’opzione migliore per noi italiani di procurarselo sia il sito inglese “Lakeland” …sito che sicuramente vi darà molti altri spunti per altri acquisti!… all’epoca io lo comprai su Ebay… ma ora chi lo vende ha un prezzo molto più caro rispetto a quello di Lakeland.

Intanto vi rimando alla ricetta per i Petticoat Tails che feci tempo fa… e se vi interessa c’è anche l’opzione per farli senza stampo… in caso abbiate un impellente bisogno di burro sotto forma di biscotto… e non avete ancora acquistato lo stampo! 😉

Hello!!! …today i want to start a new section on my blog… pages where to share ideas and suggestions on food/kitchen related shopping! …tips and suggestions about ingredients or tools… or any food/kitchen gadget I may find on the web… or in my day to day life!… things I may already have… things I want… things I think they’re cool! 🙂

Probably it’s a common trait among foodbloggers  to be maniac about strange and rare ingredients and kitchen gadgets… as soon as we see a new one we have this urgent need to have it …or we could not live without it!!! 😉 …and if you’re like me… once you get the so long desired “object” you end up leaving it in the cupboard for ages before using it!!! 😉

So maybe these pages would be useful to instill a new urgent need 😉 …but also, if possible, with also some suggestions on how to obtain the wish object!

I don’t know if I will update this section weekly …we have so many rules and time limits in our daily life that I don’t want to fix rules also on my blog… I want to take it easy … so lets start!

…and I start with a ceramic shortbread mold that I desired for a long time!!! …I love shortbreads and when I try to make a classic recipe I like to use classic and traditional tools, if there are some… to make the recipe the most original and traditional as possible.

Of course there are different kind of shortbread shapes… you can find the finger ones… but I really love Petticoat Tails ones… and how cool if you can make it in a lovely classic pan with also the thistle pattern too!? 😉

When I bought mine I found that the best price was on ebay, from an UK seller… but now all ebay prices are quite high and I found out that for the UK market the Lakeland web shop has a good price for this mould!

Maybe for UK or USA readers you may find these moulds/molds also on local shops… but over here, in Italy, it’s not easy at all… anyway… hope to have gave you a nice idea for your baking moments!

…and just to instigate my shopping-mania I just found a new shortbread gadget I absolutely want… these shortbread stamps I saw on Transplanted Cook blog… here is her pic:

In the meantime …here is my Petticoat Tails recipe I posted a while ago… you can make them even if you don’t have the mould…or if you have a craving before your mould arrives! 😉
